Real Life in Poetry COVER IMAGERY Client requested seagull in flight
Chose a cloudy sky and made it more painterly. Positioned the seagull to look at and point to the title. The wings hold your eyes on the cover. TYPOGRAPHY Chose a clean, simple font for Real Life as a reflection of the context of the poems. Chose a script font with bold strokes to reflect the masculine author. The overall message is clean, easy reading. AUTHOR IMAGE Performed some adjustments to tone to lessen the dark circles around Norman's eyes, changed his shirt colour and the tone of the background to work with the colour scheme. Orange and blue are a dynamic combination bringing life to the image. INTERIOR LAYOUT Added a few seagulls to the front matter for interest.
